A small sailboat drifts on a fine blue horizon line while a warm sun of orange and red dissolves into the sky. Across the water, a shore of gold leaf glows in the last light, its forms somewhere between trees, rocks and a sleeping figure. Below the line, everything breaks into fragments of blue, sage and gold, a reflection that feels more like a memory than a mirror image.
The fourth work of the series “Shore Tales”, in which small figures, boats and houses appear at the edge between two worlds. Watercolor washes, layered acrylic, fine ink lines and gold leaf on handmade paper. The deckled edges are part of the composition and work beautifully in a floating frame.
