A horizon line divides the sheet: above it, the outlines of sails and masts; below it, a world of deep blue where shapes break apart, mirror and transform.
Layers of acrylic in ultramarine, teal, violet and soft rose are pressed and scraped onto deckle-edged handmade paper. Fine ink lines tie the fragments together like rigging, cracks or currents. Look closely and the sea comes alive: a toothy grin beneath the surface, watchful eyes at the waterline, a small creature drifting in the depths. Spatters scatter outward like spray into the open white.
The first work in the „Ocean“ series explores the sea as a place of both journey and mystery – what floats on the surface, and what lies hidden beneath.
