A rugged, moss-green form rises from the water – a reef, a rock or the remains of an old hull. Blossoms open along its edge in rust and coral: sea anemones, perhaps, or flowers that have found a home where the sea meets stone.
Acrylic in sage green and rust is pressed onto deckle-edged cotton paper and drawn over with fine ink lines and hatching. Copper acrylic glints like weathered metal, oil pastel adds dark, raw accents, and bright red runs down the surface like rust after rain. A pale watercolor blue on the right hints at the water around it.
The fourth work in the “Ocean” series looks beneath the surface: life that grows on what the sea leaves behind.
