A small sailing boat glides past a green coast, its rust-red sails glowing in the light. Around it, tiny figures leap, swim and fly – swimmers diving from the boat or seabirds circling above, it is up to the viewer.
Acrylic in sage green, rust and soft grey is pressed onto deckle-edged cotton paper and drawn over with fine ink. Copper acrylic makes the sails shimmer, oil pastel adds texture, and a loose watercolor blue lets the boat’s reflection dissolve into the water.
The ninth work in the “Ocean” series is its lightest: a summer day on the water, full of movement and joy.
