A lone rock rises from a calm sea – and looks back. A small eye, a profile, a crest of red: the cliff turns into a creature quietly watching the horizon.
Acrylic in rust, coral and sage green is layered on deckle-edged cotton paper and outlined with fine ink. Grey streaks of oil pastel drift across the sky like low clouds, copper acrylic sparkles in the speckles around the rock, and a deep blue line marks the horizon. Below it, the scene dissolves into a loose, watery reflection in green, blue and rust.
The sixth work in the “Ocean” series is its most still: a moment of calm, a coast that seems to dream with open eyes.
Original, signed with the artist’s blind-embossed seal. Cotton paper with natural deckled edges, unframed.
