A small house on stilts stands at a vertical rift that divides the composition into two halves. Finely drawn roofs, walls and stairs merge with fragments of stone, meadow and water, bound together by a narrow line of red and blue. Watercolor skies, accents of orange pastel and flakes of gold leaf structure the surface and lend it warmth.
The fifth work of the series “Shore Tales”, in which figures, boats and houses appear at the edge between two worlds. Detailed ink drawing combined with watercolor, acrylic, pastel and gold leaf on handmade paper. The deckled edges are part of the composition and work well in a floating frame.
